Is Facebook Really Crackbook? PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 30 December 2009 00:00

With the recent epidemic of Viruses and Trojan Horses noted in the well meaning Facebook status updates from friends, I am beginning to think is it really worth it to use Facebook?

Don't get me wrong, t is a fun web site, almost to the point of being addictive; not to mention it is a great tool for the AtHomeParent who is feeling the effects of isolation.  Nevertheless, is it really worth it to put your PC data in such vulnerability?

In the last month, I have come down with a virus that my MacAfee would not detect before it got disabled by a mutant, so much to the point I chose to reformat my OS partition and go with a clean version of Windows to clear my sanity; many thanks go to my 1 TB  external hard drive that saved all my personal files.  My Windows System Restore would not even work.  Now I saw on FB in a post by my brother that my mom and dad may have come down with something, this on the heels of my sister firing Facebook in the last month until they can get straightened out.

It is getting to the point where it is more than worth it to pay the extra green for a Mac Powerbook, and go totally green/virus free and say goodbye to the residents at 15700 Northeast 39th Street, Redmond, WA forever.
